    The Matera Space Centre is dedicated to Earth Observation and Space Geodesy. The Centre contributed to the design, integration, and testing of the Civil User Ground Segment (I-CUGS) of the Italian radar satellite constellation COSMO-SkyMed and provides its operation and maintenance services since the launch of the first satellite in 2007. The COSMO-SkyMed Commercial User Terminal (CUT) Network is amplifying the mission global acquisition capabilities and it counts on more than 12 installations around the world, to grant and provide operational Near Real Time access and services over the covered areas. Activities of Space Geodesy are carried out for the Italian Space Agency (ASI), with the operation, maintenance and data analysis services for the Space Geodesy Centre network.
